This multicenter case-control study published in SOARD assessed the risk factors, clinical presentation, and management of portomesenteric vein thrombosis (PMVT) following laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. PMVT is a rare but potentially life-threatening complication in which blood clots form in the portal or mesenteric veins.
